We'd like to thank these partners for providing speakers, materials, prizes, and more.
A game jam is like a hackathon, but specifically for games! Essentially, you’ll have a week to program and submit the best game you can, and we’ll judge the games and pick our favorites.
Anyone with an interest in programming or game development can participate. As a matter of fact, we encourage people with 0 prior experience with game development to join!
This is an individual event, so no teams. However, you’re encouraged to get your friends to join and troubleshoot together! We'll also be hosting social events like stand-ups throughout the development week to promote socializing and friendly collaboration.
As a matter of fact, there is! We have an official Bit Project Discord, which everyone is encouraged to join. Also, we'll be periodically hosting events that encourage socializing between participants. Keep your eyes peeled for those!
We’ll be hosting workshops to teach someone with no prior knowledge how to use both the GameMaker and Unity engines. In addition, we’ll be having guest speakers discuss more general game development concepts.
As we approach the start of the game jam, we’ll elaborate on how the games are meant to be submitted.
